The Department of Law
The Department of Law aims to provide students with a world-class legal education, which is grounded in an appreciation of global social, economic, and cultural contexts and challenges.
At the Department of Law, we will equip you with all of the core attributes required of the legal graduate, developing your problem-solving, advocacy, and legal writing skills. However, your studies here will take you far beyond the traditional legal curriculum. We will offer you critical insights from a range of other disciplines, including politics, psychology, economics, and sociology.
You will also be exposed to the operation of the law in practice, through engagement with legal firms, public and private sector organisations, and community and voluntary groups. In short, we will ensure you gain an appreciation of the role of the law in everyday social, economic, and cultural life.
